Things they don't tell you part 1.

I knew from watching movies that pregnant women cry all the time, so I wasn't surprised when I got teary at the odd commercial or sentimental moment during the nine wonderful months of pregnancy it took to grow Cillian.

What they didn't tell me? Now that Cillian is born I cry at everything. Here is a random list of things that have made me cry since the baby was born:

1. Singing a song to him that I sang at a wedding when I was 8.5 months pregnant. He stopped what he was doing (crying) and looked at me like he recognized the tune.


2. Corrina corrina. Yes, the Whoppi Goldberg movie. Watch it again, it's sad.

3. Arriving at the opening gates at Magic Kingdom and realizing there is a whole show that is performed before the park opens. I swear it was just because I was happy for all the kids who were there. I think.

4. Reading "on the night you were born" for the first time.

5. Reading "on the night you were born" the second time.

6. Thinking about reading "on the night you were born".
